Brady & Paige

A lot of times photographers run into a creative block, sometimes it's due to burn out or a very slow period in work. Unfortunately, I felt I had hit a creative block in my work and needed a session to snap me out of the funk I was in. Luckily my friend Brady approached me in doing a one year wedding anniversary session for him and his wife Paige. There is always a different level of comfort you feel when you are working with family and friends than when you are doing client work.  So of course I was more than excited to shoot a session for them. We chose Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge VA as our location. Barbara and I have been shooting at Leesylvania for the past few years and it never fails to disappoint. It's a beautiful park with tons of neat spots for great portraits. So, needless to say it was a very laid back session and Brady and Paige did an awesome job of following instruction and most importantly getting me out of the creative block I had been dealing with. They were a lot of fun to work with and I was able to relax and let my creativity takeover, I was very happy with the end result and can't thank Brady and Paige enough for allowing me to capture their very first wedding anniversary. I can't say enough good things about the both of them and wish them nothing but the very best in their marriage, Here's to many more years of happiness and love!

Technical stuff: So I shot this session with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens and a Sigma art 50mm 1.4. I have been mainly shooting with the 70-200mm lately and it was breath of fresh air to switch it up and use the 50mm mainly on this shoot. Primes are always the best way to get your creative side going. As a photographer if you ever hit a funk grab a prime lens, a couple of friends and have yourself an awesome session!
